Blackbird Electrics Gave Up at Bridgwater Docks

I visited a total of 30 landmarks on three separate rides on two bikes in preparing the Somerset road book. The 30 landmarks were reduced to the 25 that provided the best county and road coverage and those which passed the 'sanity test' I apply when selecting a landmark. Bath Royal Crescent was one of those rejected because riding in traffic congested Bath is just unpleasant and when I got to the Crescent there was nowhere to stop and a traffic warden on steroids was booking everything he could. No way I thought. Two bikes because the electrics on my favourite Blackbird stranded me at Bridgwater Docks (another landmark that didn't make the cut) and I had to be recovered to home. Three trips because the Blackbird broke down and that fitted with my other commitments. Exmoor is a favourite of mine and those landmarks were my favourite particularly as I had the opportunity to ride Porlock Hill again. It does get a bit busy up towards Bristol but the Mendips and Chew Valley are very nice.
